One tip I can give is to identify everything- even whites, as long as they come from lvl 20 areas. Your profit margin over not IDing at all easily covers the ID kits.

Oh- and keys don't exist.

The average player is poor as a church mouse, but you only need money to buy the things that you want. If you want a req9 Eternal Blade and a tyrian crystalline, then you will NEVER have enough money. Most players however, do not need these to be happy.

Try and set yourself a reasonable goal in your money-making endeavors. Start with something simple, like 50k. Then make that 200k, then 1 million. You will be surprised by how quick your bank account grows.

The REAL secret to making money in GW though, is to have fun while doing it. If it feels like work, work for real money

. Pick something that you have fun doing, and you make money while you do it. Granted, Power Trading will make you the most money, but will you have the most fun doing it? That is the real question.

spamming in kamadan is boring and people rarely ever buy stuff - they just look and then say they havent got enough money, despite the fact you spammed the price at the outset

if you have nightfall, the desolation is a good spot, farm undead, obelisks, margonites as the wurms. i make between 20-40k per week and i suck at farming.

IMHO - There is really very little that you *need* to play the game that will increase your effectiveness in terms of spending. Pretty much everything that you *need* drops in one or more places.

Personally, I had a couple hundred thousand gold with nothing to spend it on so I buffed ALL my hero's armors with runes, insignias and etc. That didn't use all the gold and I've never found it necessary to manage my gold well. So recently I was down to +/- 70k in reserves and bought a bunch of lockpicks for some chest running. Now I have +/- 20k and I'm not in the least worried about not having more... there's nothing to really spend it on! I wouldn't be very concerned about only having 5k.

For my comfort I'd say 8k-20k in reserves is what I shoot for.

If there is a special weap/armor/mini-pet that you have your eye on, then use the hints from this and other threads at Guru & build up your reserves while you keep your eyes open to see the going price for whatever it is.

Expediency, status and aesthetics are the only reasons to spend gw gold in large amounts. -V

Over 1 million isn't even close to necessary for most players. Unless you just can't live without Obsidian armor and insanely rare weapon skins, you never really need to spend over 100k on anything all at once.

Neal, as a new player your first priority is to get max armor and max weaponry with good runes and upgrades. This is not particularly expensive. There isn't much variation in this game between good and bad weapons--rarity and appearance tends to dictate price. Gear with max effectiveness can be bought cheaply. Once you've played through the game a time or two, learned how to make money, etc, that's when you should start worrying about using vanity items.

Don't agree on that.
I'd say above 100K can be considered a lot but it's not that hard to get that amount when you play/trade right and don't spend gold on useless things.
I would view 'a lot' as the amount that you can buy stuff for in the game at NPCs.
And the highest priced items, besides FoW/Vabbi armor and perhaps destroyer weapons, would be regular 15k armor.
Prices for those armors are around 100K for the total.

Some titles cost more, but can be obtained over time.
And 100K+ weapons can only be found on the player market making them less accessible to the general crowd.
